Population Boom
Part 3 ~ 14 June 2025
Played: 14 March 2025
I set out on day 5 with a single task in mind – growing the population of Elaville. That can mean only one thing: the tried and true carrot farm bed trap! I cooked up all my sand (and more) and added all the necessary platforms and chutes to the existing rooftop farm using glass. I invited two volunteers from the starter population to be my "farmers", and they wasted absolutely no time, spawning a healthy baby villager on the very first evening!

The see-through design means I can keep an eye on things from wherever I happen to be and make sure this little "repopulation program" is going to plan. It also includes a minecart extraction system to pick up the adults and move them to their future workplaces. This build has been honed through trial and error (and many youtube tutorials) for maximum consistency, though it's not foolproof – I've already had a baby villager get into the adults container and escape...
In between bouts of building, I took advantage of any rainstorms to go fishing. Check out those views! (That jungle is some 800 blocks away, but thanks to Distant Horizons I can see a gorgeuous silhouette of the trees against the sunrise.) After a slow start, I eventually picked up Lure 2 and finally Lure 3, netting me the perfect rod. With that came a flurry of nautilus shells and enchanted bows. Soon enough, I had enough shells for a conduit, meaning I can entertain the thought of taking on the nearby ocean monuments.

My other side quest has been... well... turning into a crazy cat-person lol. This village keeps spawning random cats, so each time a new type spawns in I feed it cod from my stash. Gotta cat-ch em all, am I right? (Boooo) I can't keep up with naming all these – I'll do it when I have enough name tags XD
