A Month in Numbers

Part 23 ~ 5 September 2025

Played: 10 April 2025

It's been a month – 10 March to 10 April – since I started this world. In that time, I've built a house, colonised a village, gone to hell, slain a dragon, and taken flight. You know, standard sandbox adventure stuff. But, I've also generated a bunch of fun statistics to geek out over! So for my one-month-iversary, I thought I'd do a deep dive into the numbers, and give you all a little more insight as to what goes on in this blocky world of mine :)

  • World stats
    • In-game day: 298. Funny thing about this; I forgot I had phantoms turned off until day 90 or so, and I totally could have just stayed up through most of those nights!
    • Save file size: 1.42GB. I was shocked by this until I discovered that almost half of it is taken up by a single file created by the Distant Horizons mod.
    • Farthest generated (overworld): X -2944 to 2463, Z -2640 to 1423. The south is all ocean, which is why I haven't gone so far that way.
  • Biggest stacks (courtesy of the Stacker mod)
    • Netherrack (14,950). From netherite mining of course.
    • Eggs (13,818). I set up a chicken trap on day 1 and it's been going non-stop because it's in spawn chunks – a fun demonstration of the mod's powers :)
    • Iron ingots (10,871). Yep, the day 4 iron farm has cracked 10k, and that's not even counting the thousands more that I've taken for villager trades!
A Minecraft chest inventory with items from the nether and end dimensions. Highlighted is a stack of 14,950 netherrack, written as 14K in the chest GUI.
  • Player stats
    • Distance travelled: est. 550km total (see screenshot for a breakdown). I... don't know how the number got that high. I mean, I've been adventuring, sure, but 550? Idk how the game tracks this tbh!
    • Damage dealt: 20,447. That's enough to take down a thousand standard monsters!
    • Damage taken: 1,009. Yowch! That could have taken me down fifty times over!
    • Damage shielded: 802. This trusty hunk of wood has taken almost as much of a beating as I have!
    • Deaths: Zero :)
A section of the Minecraft statistics screen, showing the distance the player has traveled by various methods.
  • Item stats
    • Most mined: Netherrack (11,091). Note that I've picked up a lot from bed explosions, hence the stack being more than what I've mined!
    • Most crafted: Stick (5,576). Most of which went straight to the fletcher.
      • Honourable mention: Emeralds (2,026, 6th overall). Apparently earning from trade counts as "crafting" because I haven't broken down any emerald blocks!
    • Most used: Diamond Pickaxe (28,500). No surprise here – though now I've upgraded my picks to netherite, so this won't increase any more!
      • Excluding tools: Dirt block (4,731, 3rd overall). Lots of earthworks already!
      • Honourable mention: Torches (2,766, 5th overall). I've been spawnproofing a WIDE radius around the base to keep the baddies away!
    • Most picked up: Netherrack (22,900). I'm honestly not sure where the rest is lol.
  • Mob stats
    • Most killed mob: Slime (313). Almost all of these happened in the space of two nights. The smaller ones that spawn in after death also count to the total which inflates this count; my second highest is the humble Zombie at 226.
    • Total kills: 1,596 (1,229 hostile mobs)
    • Villager trades: 2,911
    • Villager population (working): 25
    • Wandering trader spawns: 5. I haven't seen one in AAAAAGES. I had to check that I didn't turn off the gamerule for them lmao.
    • Animals bred: 257. Mostly horses XD
  • Advancement progress (note I haven't been targeting these specifically!)
    • Adventuring Time: 34/52. I'm missing most of the cold biomes plus mushroom fields.
    • Monsters Hunted: 21/34. Mostly missing raid and nether mobs. And also... PHANTOMS?! D:
    • A Balanced Diet: 10/40. Gold carrots are my safe food, okay? -_-
    • Two by Two: 5/22. I can literally just list off what I've done for this: cow, chicken, sheep, horse, bee.

So yeah. That was a little breakdown of our exploits so far, just shy of 300 days. Maybe we'll do this again at 600 days and compare. Until then – on with the adventure!
